The village or the city?

There are more opportunities in the village than in the city.  Sounds impractical... I know. I also thought it did.

I have been spending my holiday season in the village and I have done a lot of observation around.

People here are making 150,000 a month and more and you are busy in Nairobi earning way less or even jobless.

Don't begin saying the land here is fertile and no it is not maize or flower farming. I'm talking about Machakos county. Water is scarce here and the land is not as fertile as that in Rift valley or Central but people are making it.

There is chicken farming, goat keeping, greenhouses and fruit farming. All these require very little capital to begin and have good earnings.

Big houses have been built, children educated and plenty of investments made from these incomes.

You will be shocked to see the live styles people are living. The city lifestyles cannot even compare.

I think it is time we reconsider. The city or the village? For me, it is the village any day any time.

Indulge yourself, don't just sit there!

Dream again. Am sure you have heard it countless times. Well, it's because it only makes sense to say it over and over again.

Everyday our hopes die for one dream, and the next day millions of dreams arise about so many other different things.

Today am dreaming about owning a hotel business, tomorrow i might be dreaming about the transport sector or import and export. All these are new possibilities that I might venture in. And tomorrow I will have new and better ideas.

Don't just sit there having a pity party. Try one of those ideas in your head, they just might work! And if they don't, you can always dream again, then try again!

This world is full of endless possibilities, indulge yourself. Don't just sit there!

MONEY! MONEY! MONEY! WHERE MY MONEY AT HONEY?

From days of our parents to these days, the world has totally changed! And so have our morals.
It was common sense that your guardians took care of all your needs until you got a job or got married. But my oh my... Girls of these generation! And by these generation i mean born from late 1980s onwards.
These girls have money on their minds when they wake, walk, talk, sleep, dream... They have lost the meaning of relationships! They mostly see them as money making ventures. First, if you are a man they won't get into a relationship with you if monetary benefits are not foreseen. They will mostly be heard saying, "keep your broke ass to yourself!"
Now this 'rich' man will be required to pay for her rent, clothes, shopping, weekend outings and trips and whatever else she will add to that list.
At month end, she will blow his phone, 'honey, where is my rent?', ' honey, gas imeisha!', 'honey, I need to go to the salon.'
Honey, he is not your father or mother! He is not obliged to take care for you! He can buy you clothes and shoes if he wants to, but it's not a must! It's an act of chivalry, yes, but it has to be on his own free will.
She will drain his bank account dry. And as soon as it's empty, she will be on to the next one. These girls aint loyal I tell you!
They are not the hunted, not any more, they are the hunters. They spot their prey and come up with strategies to get into their homes, wallets, cars... Way before, but the guy will of course be tricked to think he was the hunter.

They work so hard to get these men. I wish they used the same effort to make their own money. Work as you study, attend at a shop, start a small business or something. Stop being so damn unambitious, or should I say ambitious in the wrong things. There is so much more you can achieve! Don't stoop so low.
And that's the story of some females in my age group, day in day out! Hectic, isn't it?

That which makes you happy, Do it!

This world is not about making other people happy. It's about making yourself happy first. That which makes you happy, strive for it no matter what!
If its going on a quiet boat ride, partying from evening to morning, staying indoors and watching a movie, fashion, friends, family... Etc. Just do it! Whether you do it or not people are going to judge and talk, so do it anyway.
It should never be about what who will say, or what who will think.it should be about what makes you happy. If it brings out the best in you and makes you feel complete and content, does it matter what they think or say?
We only have one life, so we should live and experience everything possible. It's our only chance!
